At the June 21 meeting, the Eanes ISD Board of Trustees approved Holly Reid as principal of Forest Trail Elementary. The announcement follows a thorough process involving students, staff and parents, as well as an online survey to Forest Trail parents and guardians.
Reid is currently assistant principal of Cedar Creek Elementary, where she has served since 2019. She distinguished herself in a rigorous interview process against a field of highly qualified candidates, receiving positive feedback from all Forest Trail interview groups.
“We are pleased to promote an internal candidate who exemplifies the importance of leadership, preparation, energy and culture,” said Dr. Jeff Arnett, Superintendent of Schools. “Holly has exhibited growth in leadership during her time in Eanes ISD and we know Forest Trail staff and families will appreciate her knowledge, collaboration and enthusiasm.”
Prior to joining Eanes ISD, Reid was an assistant principal and academic dean at Neidig Elementary in Elgin ISD. She also worked as an instructional coach in Ennis ISD and taught kindergarten through third grade in Waxahachie, Madisonville and DeSoto.
Reid earned a Master of Education from Tarleton State University and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Texas Christian University. She holds multiple state certifications including Principal (EC12), EC-4 Generalist, ESL and Special Education. She is a graduate of Eanes ISD's leadership academy, the Institute for Excellence.
Reid replaces Cody Spraberry, who accepted a position in Dripping Springs ISD.
