Heroes

Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Lynne Bryant - Relief Bus Driver
Lynne began her "Eanes" life in 1990 as a teacher and coach and then retired in 2015 after 25 years! A few years ago, our Transportation department reached out to see if she would be interested in helping by occasionally driving a route that needed coverage. Luckily for us she said yes! This school year Lynne committed to driving two days a week and sometimes more when we are shorthanded. She is a reliable, friendly and selfless person and we thank her so much!

Hope Cooley - Bus Driver & Trainer
Hope and Paul Nyhuis make up our amazing Training Team.  Paul is not eligible to receive an award because he won an EANESpiration last year, but he and Hope are dedicated to training and preparing new drivers and coaches to obtain their commercial driver's licenses (CDL) while being regular bus drivers themselves. They have already trained 10 new drivers and coaches since the start of this school year, ensuring that all required paperwork complies with both state and federal regulations. We thank both of them for their dedication and commitment.

Ty Cressie, Uri Diaz & Julio Santos - Mechanics, The Shop Team
The shop gentlemen wear many hats and work long hours to make sure our buses stay on the road whether that means working on them or driving them anytime a route needs coverage. They are the first to arrive in the morning and the last to leave in the evening. Their commitment is incredible, and they have such positive attitudes! We appreciate them for keeping our department safe on the road and filling gaps when necessary! They are the epitome of TEAM and we appreciate them!

Charles Fifield - Bus Driver
In his first full year with Transportation, Charles has not missed a single day - what an amazing accomplishment! He is respected by his colleagues for his helpful attitude and optimistic approach. His diligent work ethic and commitment is demonstrated by his perfect attendance. He also helps his fellow bus drivers by transporting their kids from Transportation to Hill Country every day. He is a hero!

John Hafner - Bus Driver
Sargent John has been with us a little over a year, however, he instantly became a team player - always putting his best foot forward in every task he is given. He uses his military background to ensure his riders follow bus rules and understand why there are rules! "Every day is wonderful" is something we often hear Sgt. John say when he arrives at work - always on time. He is always smiling and displaying a positive attitude. He is committed to his job and looks forward every day to greeting his riders by name with genuine enthusiasm. We thank him for his service in the US Army, and we are grateful for his service with Eanes ISD.

Ron Huynh - Bus Driver
Ron has been with Eanes ISD since 2011. Rain, shine, hot, or cold, Ron always has a good attitude. He is a huge help to the transportation department, driving the Ninja Squad bus am and pm. Plus, he is always willing to run errands and drive field trips any time there is a need. He brings joy to Transportation, with a smile to all. We really appreciate Ron and all that he does to make our team better!

Cyndi Luna - Bus Driver
Cyndi joined us in January 2021 and quickly endeared herself to the entire Transportation team. She is rarely absent and is always willing to do anything asked of her. She is a compassionate friend who will readily offer a hug or an ear. Her dedication to her job comes through even when she's speaking on the radio.  She is a shining example for the rest of us.

Veronica Moseley - Bus Assistant
Veronica is completing her first year with Eanes ISD, and all during this time she works extended hours and helps anywhere needed. She is very giving and thoughtful, and her co-workers and the students she works with daily enjoy her company and positive attitude! She also has a midday position with CDC taking care of the littles. This position requires more training and patience than many realize, but she is a quick student and is a highly valued there. We are grateful to have such a great employee!

Raul Reyes - Bus Driver
In the year plus that he's been with us, Raul has made an impact on the team by always being on time, seldom taking a personal day off, and remaining cool, calm, and collected while he handles routes that typically average over 60 riders! He is also a lunch monitor at BPE where he has received praise for his contribution there. His positive attitude makes him a hero!

Eric Shield - Bus Driver
Eric began with Transportation in 2002 as a special needs bus assistant. He retired in 2013 but couldn't stay away, returning in 2015. He delivers students to the School for the Blind and the School for the Deaf daily and even on holidays and weekends when the district is closed. Amazingly, Eric has seldom missed a day in the last eight years, which shows his dedication and commitment! He greets us with a smile every morning and afternoon and is a pleasure to work with!  Thank you, Eric.
