Educational Impact

Those who display leadership and commitment to the district by making a positive, noticeable and significant impact.

Ms. Rene Diez, Bus Driver
Rene has been a long time employee. She drives the special needs school bus route, field trips and adult students. She has a strong sense of self, dedication to her students and is friendly to all of our students and families.  She has led the charge in cleaning and inventory management of our car seats. She has developed and created a training program for our staff to install car seats for our students who are in need.  She has also organized and filed for the shop foreman for a few years.

Rene is the one who always volunteers to help someone in need.  She will cover any field trip, mid-day route or step up to do what is needed to get the job done. First and foremost, she has made an impact on many students.  She has been a valuable asset to our department and should be recognized for her efforts to go above and beyond.

Good Samaritan

One who displays compassion, selflessness, or courage by taking initiative.

Ms. Mayra de Santiago, Bus Driver
Mayra decorates our Break Room making it festive and welcoming for every holiday occasion! On Valentine's Day she prepares a " photo booth" area equipped with accessories to boot! Mayra's simple act of kindness gives an uplift to the atmosphere for everyone. We appreciate her efforts.

Heroes

Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Ms. Brianna Hodges, Ed Tech Coordinator
Brianna spent countless hours outside of work coordinating and submitting our applications for Apple Distinguished Schools. She worked with Apple, four different principals and Ed Techs, and was able to effectively tell the story of each campus despite just starting in the district. As a result, all four campuses are now recognized as Apple Distinguished Schools nationally. It's rare for a district to get one school recognized, much less four. Thank you Brianna for going above and beyond to help celebrate and honor those Eanes ISD schools!

Mr. Joey Oestrick, Transportation Coordinator
Joey is always informative, friendly and available to his drivers. He makes additional time to assist drivers, motivate when necessary or troubleshoot as needed when things get overwhelming or maybe even stressful. Joey makes the EISD Transportation Department a pleasurable place to work and we are grateful for his positive attitude. He is the first one in Transportation each morning - he juggles both am and pm routes every day. He handles calls from campuses, parents, and the Transportation team members.  Many of these calls are challenging, but Joey uses his "arbitration" skills to achieve the best solutions for all concerned.

His commitment to Transportation is impressive and the hours he puts in to do that are proof of that. If someone has a question - the assumption is that Joey is the go-to guy! We appreciate him!

Mr. John Seeland, HVAC Supervisor
John Seeland consistently demonstrates a true commitment to students and staff and always strives to deliver outstanding customer service. During a normal workday, he meets teachers and staff to troubleshoot why their classroom might be experiencing issues and will work to find a solution. He is also helpful to special events in the evenings, especially at the Performing Arts Center. John also strives to save the district money and time by training his staff to a high standard to be able to fix as many issues themselves as possible.

John often goes above and beyond and comes in after hours or takes emergency calls at 2am. For instance, he came in for a plumbing emergency at WHS in the middle of the night and stayed until the issue was repaired so school could run smoothly.

John treats everyone with respect and is willing to embrace challenges. He puts others before self, promotes and displays great safety practices and is a hard-working self-starter.  Because of his integrity and ethical behavior, he is highly respected as both a person and a professional, by colleagues, and employees alike. The M&O department is better with him, but the district is better because of him and those that give their dedication to our students, staff, and community.

Alex Romero, Corey Reyna, Nathan Sims, and James Stankiewicz, Transportation Shop Staff
The Transportation shop staff are asked to drive a bus route virtually every day. They don't complain, even when asked to drive a route that may be unfamiliar to them - in the dark or through hilly neighborhoods! They just GO. Even though they are regularly pulled away from their primary responsibilities of taking care of the EISD fleet, they work diligently to make sure the buses are ready to go each morning and afternoon. They help the dispatchers choose sub buses when a regular bus is "down" for service. We are lucky to have this team!

Innovation Award

Those who implement a creative or innovative program, teaching method, cost-savings, etc.

Ms. Maria Feliciano, District Accountant
Maria has successfully piloted the process of moving all employee vendors to direct deposit instead of cutting an accounts payable check for travel or reimbursement, etc. each week. Maria has worked in several capacities in the office and therefore has knowledge of many areas. Even though she could get away with saying, "I don't work in that department anymore!” she is always willing to assist wherever she is needed.
