Educational Impact

Those who display leadership and commitment to the district by making a positive, noticeable and significant impact.

Dr. Chad Burnett & Heather Meek, Directors of Curriculum & Instruction
Chad and Heather are outstanding district leaders who strike a rare and powerful balance: they uphold high expectations and push for continuous improvement, while remaining compassionate and supportive colleagues. Their strategic planning skills have been instrumental in bringing the district’s goals to life. They wear many hats—leading instructional coaches, supporting campuses as needed, attending events and more—all with unwavering commitment. Their leadership has had a significant impact on academic success in Eanes ISD. From developing the PLC Strategy Implementation Guide, to championing UDL principles, to refining district curriculum documents, their work has strengthened collaboration and ensured a guaranteed and viable curriculum across the district. Beyond their day-to-day responsibilities, Heather and Chad are always approachable, ready to listen, and quick to offer thoughtful guidance. The Teaching & Learning Department—and all of Eanes ISD—is stronger because of their leadership.

Good Samaritan

One who displays compassion, selflessness, or courage by taking initiative.

Sheila Bostick, Benchmark Bank
Sheila and her team at Benchmark Bank have made a real effort to support the Eanes ISD schools, staff, and community over the years. They donate countless hours of volunteer service from their staff - at carnivals, EEF Gala, Booster Club events, Special Olympics and more. They also donate meals and coffee to support Booster Club and EEF events, and they have donated to various campus and EEF causes as a corporate donor. They are involved and supportive in some way with almost every - if not every - campus in Eanes ISD, and has supported the District at events and meetings. Sheila's leadership in service has been invaluable!

Stephanie Reynolds, District Receptionist/Accounting Assistant
Stephanie has been the receptionist for the district since July. A couple of months after she started, a fellow co-worker suffered a medical emergency. Once it was determined that a call to 911 needed to be made, she made the call and relayed all of the relevant information from the nurse to the 911 operator. She maintained her composure during this call and remained on the line until emergency personnel arrived. Once emergency personnel arrived, she helped answer any questions they had related to the event. Her calm and swift response ensured her colleague received timely medical attention and that relevant information was relayed. We are thankful that Stephanie joined our team this year!

Innovation

Those who implement a creative or innovative program, teaching method, cost-savings, etc.

Fred Benitez, Director of Educational Technology
Through Fred’s leadership, hard work, and dedication, Eanes ISD has achieved the prestigious status of Apple Distinguished District, a recognition of the many thoughtful ways that technology is implemented in our classrooms. Fred’s dedication to fostering creativity and innovation is evident in the work he does everyday to support teachers and students and administrators. He collaborates with educators to design engaging, tech-enhanced lessons that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world application. What truly sets Fred apart is his kindness and approachability. He listens carefully to the needs of administrators, teachers and students alike, all the while ensuring that technology is used not merely as a tool but also as a means to make learning more meaningful. Whether it’s supporting an innovative program like Apple Distinguished Schools or providing hands-on training, Fred inspires everyone, everyday, to embrace technology as a way to elevate education.

Heroes

Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Dana DeLorenzo, Eanes Education Foundation Executive Director
Dana works tirelessly as the Executive Director of EEF. Her dedication to funding teachers is monumental, and she does everything with a positive mindset. She is incredibly organized, knowledgeable, and has a great sense of humor. If you need something, she knows the answer or will get it to you ASAP. She juggles so many things with grace. She has everyone’s best interest at heart and is always championing for their success! When a negative situation occurs and people reach out for clarification, Dana makes sure to get the correct information and then helps to share that to correct the misinformation. She may be tiny, but she will fight for the truth and reputation of Eanes ISD no matter what!

Lisa Groover, District Event Programming & Rental Coordinator
Lisa Groover has gone above and beyond in supporting teachers—not just logistically, but holistically, recognizing that when teachers thrive, students do too. Through tireless organization, clear communication and patience in answering a thousand questions, Lisa runs the Community Ed system that allows teachers to participate in after-school programming in a way that is both meaningful and manageable. She ensures club opportunities are not just filler activities, but thoughtfully aligned with student interests and teacher strengths—enhancing the overall educational experience.

Additionally, Lisa works with teachers to advise on prices for club participation that ensures these opportunities come with fair supplemental pay, demonstrating a rare commitment to respecting teachers’ time and professional contributions. The Community Ed system she coordinates removes barriers, reduces stress, and allows teachers to focus on what they do best: inspiring and educating students. Lisa Groover is not only a logistical powerhouse but a quiet champion of teacher wellness and sustainability. Her behind-the-scenes work has made a visible difference in school morale, staff retention, and student engagement.

Christine Jimenez, District Accountant
Since joining our team, Christine has proven to be a dedicated employee with a strong work ethic. She has an ability to anticipate needs and solve problems proactively. While fulfilling her Business Office responsibilities, she took on the additional duties of helping with the bookkeeping duties at West Ridge to ensure the campus and its students received much-needed support. This included submitting final orders for the campus, making deposits, reconciling credit card transactions and reconciling campus budget accounts. While conducting regular financial reviews at Hill Country, Christine performed a thorough investigation during her off-duty hours, discovering instances of fraud. Because of her, we were able to prevent further damage and take corrective action. She makes our team better in so many ways and we're beyond thankful for her!

Ginger Lloyd, Purchasing Specialist
Ginger’s open and approachable nature makes her a beacon of support for everyone around her. Her expertise is incredible; she knows how to navigate every challenge with grace. More importantly, she is always willing to guide staff, embodying the wisdom of teaching a man to fish.  She has taken full ownership of her responsibilities and consistently “rolls with the punches,” tackling every “other duty as assigned” with flexibility and a can-do attitude. Ginger works hard to enforce our purchasing procedures, even when those conversations are tough or not well received, and she does so with professionalism, clarity, and fairness. Ginger’s integrity, resilience, and team spirit make her incredibly deserving of this recognition.
