Educational Impact

Those who display leadership and commitment to the district by making a positive, noticeable and significant impact.

Julie Burgess, Special Education Teacher
Julie Burgess has a heart of gold. She has a unique, heartfelt perspective as a parent and educator of special needs students. During these unprecedented times of remote learning, Julie has dedicated her time to making sure her students get what they need in ways that are unique to each of her students all the while benefiting instruction for both the regular ed and special ed classroom. To onboard her young learners in 1st and 2nd grade, she has created and shared a multitude of handouts, screencasts, modified work with accessibility features in mind and met up with students and parents remotely to troubleshoot, teach, and reteach as many times as needed for our students to get what they need to meet their instructional goals. What an amazing impact she has made!

Elaine Troublefield, Special Education Teaching Assistant
Elaine Troublefield is one of the most dedicated and skilled teaching assistants you could ever hope to meet! She provides love, engagement, and high expectations for every student.  Elaine never fails to meet a challenge with perseverance and positivity - be it academic or behavioral.  She consistently goes above and beyond to help teachers prepare materials for their lessons and to collaborate about students. She has volunteered to stay after school many times to discuss student needs with teachers and work on materials. Elaine also exemplifies kindness and a love of learning to our students every day. She is there to support and guide every student on the campus - not just those on her schedule for the day. The ways Elaine has positively impacted our campus are countless. We are so lucky to have her at EE!

Heroes

Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Whitney Braden and Martha Hansen, Volunteers
Whitney and Martha pulled out all the stops to ensure the very best STEAM Day at Eanes Elementary this year.  From broadening the A-Arts portion of our event to identifying new vendors to present scientific splendors to our students, these two women knocked STEAM Day 2019 out of the park!  They even brought in a kangaroo this year as one of our live animal vendors that wowed everyone!  These ladies are truly heroes!

Marilou Gemperle, Substitute
Marilou has served the district for many, many years as a substitute teacher. Marilou is by far one of our most treasured substitutes. She is consistent, steadfast and kind with everyone.  She knows every single student on our campus, calls them by name, checks on their well-being, while implementing lessons with a great deal of professionalism. She and her husband retired and moved to Georgetown and she will be dearly missed!
