Educational Impact

Those who display leadership and commitment to the district by making a positive, noticeable and significant impact.

Ms. Tonya Van Dyke, Special Education Teacher
Ms. Van Dyke is highly invested in her students and shows them how they can be successful in their own way. She finds ways to motivate her students and teaches them life skills that include inspiration, compassion, curiosity and resilience and why they are essential for both school and life.  Ms. Van Dyke works to create a plan unique to every student’s needs, to help them be successful in the classroom. Each student in her care KNOWS that they are and can continue to be successful. Her attentiveness and compassion for each of her students is unparalleled and she will advocate endlessly for them!

Good Samaritan

One who displays compassion, selflessness, or courage by taking initiative.

Ms. Natalia Ingram, 2nd-Grade Teacher
Ms. Ingram set up a Cedar Creek Volunteer Night once a month to help the community. Staff members can participate as often as they want to, bring their families if they choose, and give back to the Austin area. Mrs. Ingram also works to include her impact to help others inside her classroom. She has invited programs to come into her room and teach her 2nd graders about volunteering and how much fun it can be. For example, a non-profit came to her room with supplies for the kids to help create supplies for dogs in a shelter.  Ms. Ingram also took on a leadership role with the Sunshine Committee Leader this year and brought so many fun, good ideas to our campus that benefit our school’s morale and social climate. We are so grateful for Ms. Ingram!

Heroes

Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Ms. Jo Davis, PE Teacher
Ms. Davis has worked at Cedar Creek Elementary for years and years and there is not one person in that time who would not agree that she is the most positive person. She has such a great attitude. She gives a warm heartfelt hello and smile to everyone every day, both students and teachers. Her nominator said, “Ms. Davis is the most kind, gentle, positive and loving person I have ever met. Her patience is immeasurable. Children love her, adults love her and I am sure if animals could talk they would say the same.”  It is just her everyday attitude, outlook and demeanor that makes her such a wonderful staff member at Cedar Creek Elementary.

Ms. Ana Hymel, Substitute Nurse
Ms. Hymel is an EISD parent and she is an amazing substitute for our school nurse. She is friendly, kind and is helpful to our students and staff. We have been so fortunate to have Ms. Hymel; she has stepped in at the last minute and subbed several times whenever she is needed. Ms. Hymel goes above and beyond when she subs including checking the AED's. She also offers to help in the office when she is not busy in the nurse’s office and is always willing to lend a hand. We love Ms. Hymel!

Ms. Kelly Marwill, Parent Volunteer
Ms. Marwill has served as the Cedar Creek Booster Club President this year and President-Elect last year. She has done an outstanding job of leading the Booster Club to ensure the mission of the organization is met: it's all about kids and learning! She is a selfless person who has volunteered hours to organize event after event, and has spent countless hours volunteering, all the while having a huge smile on her face. Under Ms. Marwill's leadership, Cedar Creek has benefitted from the addition of multiple outdoor learning spaces and donations to each classroom for indoor creative learning activities. She and her husband are key volunteers and supporters of the Eanes Education Foundation to fund teachers, which is greatly appreciated. Thank you for ALL you do for CCE and the Eanes ISD community!

Innovation

Those who implement a creative or innovative program, teaching method, cost-savings, etc.

Ms. Meghan Jackson, Parent Volunteer
Ms. Jackson is a parent at Cedar Creek Elementary, and has gone above and beyond in researching and passionately organizing our garden and outdoor learning spaces! She has transformed all of our garden spaces to not only be beautifully aesthetic areas, but to also ensure students and teachers have a special place to learn. Over 200 parents participated in the garden building project and each classroom has a garden parent to assist teachers in getting started. Ms. Jackson also gave every teacher a flash drive full of curriculum integration ideas. She submitted and received grants to fund the program, including a $3000 grant from the City of Austin for a water cistern. Her wish is for teachers to feel excitement for bringing science, exploration and the outdoors to learning at CCE and we all benefit from her vision. We are so thankful for all that Ms. Jackson has brought to CCE!
