Innovation

Those who implement a creative or innovative program, teaching method, cost-savings, etc.

Jeffrey Chen - Student
Jeffrey researched information to create an incredibly informative presentation providing parents information about the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) and specifically, what parents need to know if the District has to implement a reunification protocol. Jeffrey gave his presentation to WHS leadership, Central Admin Cabinet and the SSHAC, tweaking the presentation and getting feedback along the way. He plans to give presentations to booster clubs next year. Thank you, Jeffrey, for your time and dedication to school safety.

Heroes

Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Kim Allen & Jill van Voorhis - Volunteers
Kim and Jill were instrumental in our Bond Election communication. These amazing volunteers used their time and resources to produce informational signs and mailers to disseminate details to the community related to the 2023 Bond. Their effort was valuable in helping get the word out to district parents and also those who do not currently have children in Eanes ISD.  Kim and Jill also helped to organize and promote the WHS Incubator Pitch Night. This event was a tremendous success. The WHS Incubator program has grown and flourished due to your devotion. Thank you, Kim and Jill for your hard work and dedication to Eanes ISD. You are greatly appreciated.

Kate Andrade - Volunteer
Kate has graciously given of her time and talent in the world of grant writing to help Eanes ISD. She has assisted in locating grant opportunities, training staff, and providing feedback on applications. The grant process can be a very complicated exercise. Kate’s expertise has been a wonderful model for staff to follow. The District is very appreciative of her efforts to help us find grants that can enhance services to students.

Iris Petru - Physical Therapist
Iris is an amazing Physical Therapist working with all campus locations. She is knowledgeable, a team player, and strives to do whatever she can for each of her students. She coaches other staff on how to work with particular students, collaborates with other service providers to make sure what she is doing aligns with what they want, and always makes sure her students are set up for success. The district is so lucky to have Iris!

Janel Rodriguez, Hays County Sheriff's Office Deputies Mark Andrews & Anthony Hipolito - Volunteers
Deputy Anthony Hipolito, Deputy Mark Andrews and Ms. Janel Rodriguez have given so much time and energy to educating our students, staff and parents on the dangers of fentanyl. The dynamic trio first spoke to parents and shared their powerful stories to almost 200 attendees. They then spoke to 7th and 8th graders at HCMS and WRMS, followed by a school-wide assembly at WHS. Their impact is unknown, but the potential is tremendous. The feedback we have received is incredibly positive. Students have come forward to have conversations. Families are talking. Thank you, HCSO and Janel for your selflessness and commitment to community awareness.

Jeffrey Sharpe - Volunteer
Jeff volunteered to be the head basketball coach for our Eanes Special Olympics team. He came to practice every week for two months prepared and ready to coach. He takes special care to work with each athlete to help them understand their role on the team and really focuses on sharpening their skills. The athletes absolutely love him, and we could not have had the success we did without him!  Thank you, Jeffrey, for your incredible dedication to our Eanes Special Olympians.

Lucy Vazquez Cortes - Custodian
Lucy is amazing. We love having her as a part of our Central Administration family. She is a joy to encounter whenever you have the pleasure to run into her. She cares for our building like she would her home. We come in every day to extra special touches:  folded blankets, clean desktops, and a clean building. Lucy goes above and beyond, stopping in to check on things throughout the day. We are incredibly thankful for you, Lucy.
