The community has an opportunity to give input on the program review at two symposiums. More info online.

Bond Oversight Committee Selected
The Board finalized the membership of the Bond Oversight Committee. The BOC will monitor the progress of the 2019 bond projects while also ensuring transparency in the use of proceeds from the sale of the bonds.

Budget Update
The Board was presented an update on the 2019-20 budget, which shows a current budgeted deficit of $3.28M with a projected actual performance of $2.28M.  This is an increased deficit of approximately $60K from the adopted budget, due to lower enrollment and lower projected investment earnings. Current projections point to a potential reduction of an estimated 41 staff for 2020-21. The Board will continue budget discussion over the next several months.

Westlake High School
College Admissions & AP Report
The Board reviewed the annual College Admissions report for the Class of 2019 that includes data on college applications, acceptance and attendance results. The report included an update on the Advanced Placement (AP) Program at Westlake High School with data on course offerings, student performance and the benefits of taking AP and dual credit college courses.

Annual Financial Audit and FIRST Report
The Board received an update on the District's annual financial audit for 2018-19. Representatives from Maxwell, Locke & Ritter issued an unmodified opinion (clean opinion), which is the best opinion a school district can receive.

The Texas Education Agency's review of Eanes ISD's financial management performance was presented during a public hearing October 22. For the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (or Schools FIRST), Eanes ISD received a 94 out of 100, earning the highest possible rating of Superior. The 2019 rating is based on audited financial data for the 2017-18 fiscal year.
