Eanes-Marshall Ranch House
The original Eanes family ranch house was moved from its original location near Bee Caves Road and Loop 360 to the Eanes Elementary campus in 2001. The home housed the Robert Eanes family and then the family of his daughter, Viola Eanes-Marshall, who raised six children in it. The house is filled with period furnishings.
Eanes Community Church
Beginning in 1896, a "new" frame house was built on land given by William and Sophia Teague. This new building would serve as a schoolhouse and community church, Eanes School (and later, Eanes Elementary) and has been operating at the same location ever since!
Eanes Community Cemetery
The Eanes Community Cemetery sits across the parking lot from the old Eanes Community Church and Old Rock School House. It contains the remains of some 30 Eanes residents including members of the Teague, Johnson, Riley, Thurman, Garmon and Brust families. Unmarked graves, likely those of travelers migrating through the area, can also be observed. Members of the Eanes family are not buried in this cemetery. They are interred in the Eanes Family Cemetery in the Lost Creek area. There are 10 historic cemeteries within the boundaries of EISD.
Wagon Barn
The wagon barn is a recreation of the Johnson family ranch wagon barn. It houses an old wagon commonly used in the late 1800s. The wagon came from the Oliver property.
The Eanes History Center Yellow House Museum
The Eanes History Center includes a small museum housed in the Yellow House at 202 Camp Craft Rd. It contains many original artifacts from the Eanes community. Some items you might see include the early Westlake High School memorabilia, the first collection basket used at the Eanes Community Church, a 1920's school costume and many tools used by local pioneers.
Eanes History Resources
An archival library has been digitized by Westbank Community Librarians. The library holds a collection of materials that pertain to the Eanes area, past and present. The extensive library includes maps, local histories, genealogical records and interviews with people who have a connection to the Eanes community.
