We celebrated our Trustees in January as a part of School Board Recognition Month. Our Trustees are volunteers who shoulder critical responsibilities and often make difficult choices for our district, all without pay. Their leadership and commitment to the success of our district are admirable and they spend hours and hours on behalf of our community.
In December, our Board held one meeting that included a report on the District's elementary Spanish Immersion pilot program, an update on co-and-extra-curricular bond projects and the approval of the 2020-21 and 2021-22 student calendars.
In November, our Board heard reports on the formation of two district-level committees, the official enrollment report for 2019-20 and new course proposals at WHS. The Board also heard its first presentation on Golden Pennies, which, as a result of new legislation, could bring additional non-recapturable revenue to the district.
