District Committees

Eanes ISD welcomes community participation on a variety of levels. We invite our families and community members to view the opportunities below.

Current opening: Bond Advisory Committee. The committee's role is to vet the necessity and desirability of potential projects; prioritize projects in the event some might need to be removed for cost reasons; and determine how best to present projects to provide public transparency and oversight guidance for a potential 2027 Bond.

Current Committees

Bond Oversight Committee (BOC)(opens in new window/tab)
The committee's role will monitor the progress of bond projects authorized by Eanes ISD voters in May 2023; ensure transparency to enhance public confidence in the use of proceeds from the sale of these bonds; provide the Board of Trustees with recommendations for or against any change of scope for the adopted projects; and provide regular reports to the Board. The BOC will remain in place and functioning until a Board approved threshold of 2023 Bond funds has been met.

Time commitment - generally eight meetings per year, two hours in the evening

CARE Committee
The Community, Accessibility, Respect and Engagement (CARE) Committee is a working group dedicated to supporting the Eanes ISD mission by promoting belonging for all by understanding school climate, providing opportunities for community engagement and sharing best practices for supporting the whole student as outlined in the Eanes ISD Graduate Profile.
District Leadership Team (DLT)
The District Leadership Team (DLT) is a collaborative body comprised of students, staff, parents, community members and business representatives, selected by district and campus staff. The DLT advises the Board of Trustees on educational goals, planning and performance objectives and ensures district-level improvement plans align with student needs and state standards.
Long-Range Facility Planning Committee
The Long-Range Facility Planning Committee (LRFPC) will serve in a key advisory role to guide the district with providing valuable insights and assessing future facility developments of the district's campuses, aligning with educational goals and community aspirations. By incorporating the input from campus committees, the LRFPC will offer a holistic perspective that will aid in informed decision-making for effective facility planning.

Safety & Security Committee
The responsibilities of the School Safety & Security Committee shall include developing and implementing emergency plans, consistent with the district multi-hazard emergency operations plan, to ensure that specific campus, facility, and support service needs are addressed.
School Safety and Health Advisory Council (SSHAC)(opens in new window/tab)
The School Safety and Health Advisory Council (SSHAC) is a group of parents and staff members representing all EISD schools that studies relevant issues regarding the health and well-being of students and makes recommendations to the district.

Time commitment - one meeting per month, one hour in the evening
Overall approximate time commitment or term - two-year commitment preferred
Special Education Parent Partners(opens in new window/tab)
Parent Partners is intended to be an active working group serving in an advisory role, acting as one of several conduits between the parent community and special education administration, and collaborating with the special education department on parent-led initiatives. Formerly the Sped Parent Working Group (SPWG). Currently not accepting new committee members.
Technology Advisory Committee (TAC)
The purpose of the Technology Advisory Committee (TAC) is to provide input, guidance and support for district technology initiatives. The TAC is comprised of Eanes ISD community members, teachers and administrators and offers a diverse perspective on technology integration, data privacy and instructional expectations for a K-12 device selection.
