Educational Impact Award

Those who display leadership and commitment to the district by making a positive, noticeable and significant impact.

Ms. Kena Dinardi
Ms. Dinardi has been a game changer for students this year, with her quiet, private and "stealth" interactions with students. She is keenly aware of what situations may impact students and plans ahead. She doesn't just serve students, but works with all students who may need help. Her talents have made a positive, dramatic impact to help students achieve more than prior to her joining us. While all of this is part of her job description, she is highly gifted at what she does. She goes above and beyond what is expected when working with students and parents. It is wonderful to see her in action and we are so thankful to work side by side with her!

Ms. Heather Petruzzini
Ms. Petruzzini has worked with individual teachers, grade level teams, the entire staff, and administrators to improve our professional learning community. She has been a strong advocate of collaborative learning for teachers and has helped guide us step-by-step as we slowly make changes to our practices. Ms. Petruzzini has taught professional development classes over the summer, guided our school-wide reading shift towards a more balanced approach to literacy including guided reading, and advocated for different and more meaningful professional development opportunities for teachers throughout the year. In addition, she has made herself available to help create meaningful assessments, develop interventions to best meet student needs, and even whip up a spreadsheet to help us analyze student progress using data. Her focus is always on the students and we are fortunate to have her as our Instructional Partner at VVE!

Mr. Lawrence Zenon
Mr. Zenon has displayed leadership and commitment to Eanes ISD by making a positive and significant impact on our students' love of music. The number of children participating in choir has risen noticeably and there's already excitement in the air to be a part of this program next year. Mr. Z has provided a dynamic learning experience for students in his music classes, before-school percussion instruction and after school choir classes. The choir and percussion ensemble that Mr. Z has dedicated countless hours to is unparalleled. The confidence, precision, and talents that he draws out in the students is amazing. The students are so proud and invested in their performances thanks to Mr. Z's leadership. We are in awe of his talents and what he has brought to the spirit of VVE.

Good Samaritan Award

One who displays compassion, selflessness, or courage by taking initiative.

Ms. Jackie Seiders-Smart
Ms. Seiders-Smart spends countless hours helping in and around the office. She fills in gaps anytime we ask for her assistance. She is dependable, selfless, detail oriented and a pleasure to work with. She goes above and beyond a volunteer's call of duty to help complete tasks and meet the needs of other parents that call in or visit Valley View. Our school is a better place because of Ms. Seiders-Smart's precious gift of time!

Ms. Teri Mansfield
Ms. Mansfield is the most compassionate employee at VVE. When a staff member has a question for her to help a student, she drops everything to ensure that the student is successful. Ms. Mansfield is one of the original secretaries at VVE. She is the backbone of Valley View. She is always coordinating everything between the booster club, community, and the staff. Her love of the students is beyond words. Valley View would NOT be the school it is today without her and her welcoming smile to all who enters the doors of Valley View Elementary! Ms. Mansfield makes what Valley View is and has been for at least the last 34 years!

Heroes Award

Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Ms. Kimie Qualizza
Ms. Qualizza is our hero for displaying leadership, dedication, and commitment to Eanes ISD. This energetic volunteer has successfully organized our workroom and staffed it every day with volunteers. She stepped up to help in our time of need. Ms. Qualizza volunteered to organize, train and schedule parent volunteers to help make copies, laminate, die cut, create templates, booklets...you name it! Her efforts and those of her incredible team have saved us, the teachers, countless hours. She has spent hours upon hours volunteering in the classroom - preparing materials, making copies, organizing books, and much more.

Ms. Qualizzi is eager to offer her time and serve selflessly. We are forever thankful for Ms. Qualizzi's act of compassion and care for the staff and the students at Valley View; she has a servant's heart and is always willing to give of herself and her time!
