Educational Impact Award
Those who display leadership and commitment to the district by making a positive, noticeable and significant impact.
Ms. Jennie George
Ms. George is our fearless first grade team leader. She plans every field trip, organizes amazing 1st grade events, leads PLC meetings, keeps us on track at team curriculum planning meetings and so much more. She comes every day ready to be the best possible teacher for her students and is constantly searching for ways to better support students and families. Each week Ms. George creates a "Morning Meeting" Smartboard for the team to use to help us build classroom community. She also makes a weekly newsletter for the 1st grade teachers to send to their students' families to keep them up to date and informed on the happenings of first grade at EE. She is not only an inspiration to her students but to her colleagues as well. Thank you Ms. George!
Mr. Drew Watson
Mr. Watson is a passionate and accomplished educator. He exemplifies what all teachers should strive to be, takes risks with his teaching, holds students to high standards, and makes learning fun, meaningful and challenging. He acts as a facilitator of student learning while students drive the instruction in his classroom.
Mr. Watson is an innovator; he is constantly creating units from scratch and sharing them with teammates and other teachers across the district. As a mentor in the Eanes Writing Institute he shares his passion and knowledge about teaching with teachers from all over the district. We are so proud to have him on our campus!
Ms. Kelly Van Meter
For the past two years, Ms. Van Meter has brought STEM day to Eanes Elementary. This fun, engaging day gets students and teachers alike excited for STEM. She dedicates hours to organize this event and make sure the day runs smoothly across all grade levels from kindergarten to 5th grade. This is an enormous task and Ms. Van Meter executes it beautifully. In addition, she is an exceptional Instructional Partner. Her door is always open to talk ideas over, provide guidance, and to simply listen. Ms. Van Meter is a gem in our district and we are fortunate to have her working on our campus.
Ms. Jane Wold
Ms. Wold has done a remarkable job as an educator in what has been a challenging year. Any other person would be overwhelmed, but not our super hero that is Ms. Wold. In spite of these challenges, she went back to school this year pursuing a Masters Degree in Educational Administration. In addition, she attended the PLC Conference in Arizona with a group of teachers and the EE Leadership Team and will be a member of the PLC Leadership Coalition during the coming school year. Throughout all of this, she has maintained her tradition of inspiring her students to learn in a safe space whether by the music she brings to them, the curriculum that she leads them through, or the love that she showers on them on a daily basis.
Good Samaritan Award
One who displays compassion, selflessness, or courage by taking initiative.
Ms. Jennifer Sanders
Ms. Sanders is an exceptional substitute and we are so lucky to have her! When we need her, she is always available to help. One evening, we asked her to sub for us the next day and of course she agreed, but then we needed to cancel the following morning. Later that same morning, we discovered we needed another sub and called Ms. Sanders. Of course she agreed and was here in 10 minutes - so happy to be of service! She is kind, patient, flexible, loves Eanes and loves the children! We could not be happier to have her as part of our team!
Mr. Eric Watts
Mr. Watts is our workroom parent volunteer coordinator. He works tirelessly on projects that need to be completed. When there is a vacancy, he comes in to work to make sure our teachers have all of their materials ready. Mr. Watts makes things more efficient and user friendly for volunteers and teachers. We can always count on him and are extremely thankful for his hard work and dedication. When a grade level project had a specific need for a specific kind of paper, Mr. Watts rushed to buy what was needed on the day the teachers needed it.
Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Ms. Charlotte Burke
Ms. Burke's positive attitude and impact on this campus are not just contagious, but the stuff that real heroes are made of! It is amazing how the behind the scenes work takes place to make this school run, often without the teachers even knowing there was a hiccup. Ms. Burke contributes to make a difference in the lives of everyone at this school--students, teachers, staff, and parents alike. Ms. Burke is an amazing school registrar, budget cruncher, parent mediator, mental health coach, sanity provider, teacher, multitasking extraordinaire, and all around Eanes Elementary EANESpirational Hero.
