West Ridge EANESpiration Winners, 2019
Those who display leadership and commitment to the district by making a positive, noticeable and significant impact.
Ms. Amber Finch, Math Teacher
Amber has contributed in many ways this school year and has had a positive impact on her students and colleagues. She truly cares for her students and wants every student to be the best they can be. She takes the time and effort to collaborate with students and staff about ways they can become more successful, and doesn't accept failure from her students. She is inclusive and goes the extra mile for those students that aren't your "typical" student.
This year she took on the extra roles of 8th-grade Teaming Kid Talk Coordinator and is the leader of the WRMS 8th grade Pedernales trip. Collaborating with supporting support staff and her student teacher this year has helped out those staff members, but ultimately it reached the students she cares about so much.
Ms. Kathleen Templeton, English Teacher
Kate has gone above and beyond to meet the needs of her students this year. She has been especially helpful in offering her classroom and her assistance to our shared students each time there is a quiz or test. This happens at least one a week, and Kate has given some (or sometimes most) of her conference period to make sure students have a quiet space and the support they need to take tests. Kate offers her time with an extremely positive attitude, and we are so grateful for the support she has provided teachers and students.
Ms. Beth Washburn, English Teacher
When you walk into Beth's classroom you are consumed with this warm, welcoming presence instantly with the dim lights, lamps, good smells and quiet atmosphere. Her positive, upbeat and fun energy lifts her students up every day and her willingness to open up and share stories about herself creates an environment of vulnerability and individuality. She sets the bar high with her students and expects them to meet this goal in a respectful way.
She holds everyone accountable and is able to do so because she is constantly working on building relationships with her students and coworkers. She is a bright light in the day for both staff and students.
Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Ms. Cheryl Miller, Campus Secretary
Cheryl never comes to work without a smile on her face and a positive attitude! She will go out of her way to help others and to make sure everyone and everything is taken care of. This includes things that are outside of her normal job duties and requirements. There has never been a time when Cheryl has turned someone away or not completed a task that was asked of her because it wasn't "her job." If Cheryl knows that we will be short for subs on a certain day, she will get to work extra early to work through the schedules and make sure every class is covered.
She has taken on many extra tasks without a single complaint. Cheryl is also very genuine and shows that she truly cares about each and every student that walks the WRMS halls.
Ms. Kayla Willey, Special Education Collaborative Teacher
Kayla is such a positive person! She loves the kids, and she goes above and beyond for them to be successful. She is committed to finding what works for each of her students, regardless of their disability. She goes out of her way to help students succeed. Kayla meets before and after school with teachers trying to make sure she understands the student's curriculum to assist them in all of their subject areas. She even started a yoga club to help students with mindfulness and awareness of ways to de-stress. Kayla goes above and beyond to make a difference in our middle school environment. Thank you for all you do for students and teachers!
