Bridge Point ES EANESpiration Winners, 2018
Educational Impact Awards
Those who display leadership and commitment to the district by making a positive, noticeable and significant impact.
Ms. Tracie Mojica
Ms. Mojica is a phenomenal teacher who inspires not only her students to do their best, but her colleagues too. She fosters a strong sense of community that encourages her students to take risks and believe in themselves. Ms. Mojica spends extensive time getting to know each and every student's specific learning style, personality, and what makes them "tick." She helps students navigate through their academic day, as well as any social situations that may arise, such as being inclusive with peers, being aware when someone is feeling left out, especially at lunch and on the playground, and how to communicate effectively when faced with friend challenges.
Ms. Mojica is always the first one to offer help with lesson planning, advising with student academic/social interventions, and shouldering many team responsibilities. She is the epitome of a team player and dedicated teacher. We are lucky to have her!
Ms. Shannon Pipkin
Ms. Pipkin is a vital part of the SPED team at Bridge Point. She is great at organizing, she is quick thinking and able to make excellent decisions without delay. If a student is struggling or having a bad day, she is a pro at knowing when to keep pushing and when to provide a break. She is always looking and thinking of a better way to do something. When scheduling difficulties arise because of a last-minute change or lack of sub, Ms. Pipkin is quick to think it through and come up with a logical solution. She is a vital part of BPE and makes every day better with her presence.
Ms. Meg Green, Ms. Meredith Joseph, and Mr. Joshua Root
The collaborative team of fourth grade Language Arts/Social Studies teachers has proven inspirational for students, as well as teachers district-wide. Mrs. Joseph, Mrs. Green, and Mr. Root's workshop model of teaching equips students with strategies to read a variety of genres while developing a love for reading. Students who once saw reading as a chore look forward to independent reading time. The New-to-Eanes Teacher Academy participated in learning walks in their classrooms, and the visiting teachers left with new ideas and ways to challenge and inspire their students. As a team, they have been intentional about the inter-disciplinary approach to teaching. They have invited guest speakers from a meteorologist to celebrate the end of a nonfiction unit of study to interactive speakers from the Bob Bullock Museum. All three are involved in the EISD Year-Long Writing Institute showing a desire to continue their own professional learning. This team has made a significant, educational impact at Bridge Point and in Eanes ISD.
Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Ms. Leslie Boldrick
Leslie Boldrick makes an incredible impact on our school every day. Knowing she is here is so reassuring to us as teachers and as staff members. Leslie handles it all....cuts, bruises, ice packs, band aids, medication and emergencies for all our students and also our staff at BPE. She handles all this with a smile on her face. She makes time for everyone even if it is a splinter that needs to be taken out or a tooth that needs to be pulled. She is patient, knowledgeable, and is so relied upon. Bridge Point students and staff are so very lucky and fortunate to have her be a part of our team.
Mr. Anthony Diaz
Mr. Diaz has been a part of our BPE family for a little over a year. In that short time, he has made a tremendous impact in our community among students and staff. He is proactive and steps in intuitively without being prompted. He advocates for his students and co-workers by working collaboratively with others and offers common-sense solutions which he is always willing to be a part. Anthony has been known to offer salsa lessons to staff in the lounge after school, pick up debris in the middle of the road during the drop off rush, and even helped when a teacher was having an emergency craving for Cheetos. He's brought out new talents, humor, and personality traits in students, such as culinary expertise and joke telling. Mr. Diaz is a visionary and is always looking for ways to improve himself, his team, and our school.
Those who implement a creative or innovative program, teaching method, cost-savings, etc.
Ms. Kate Ricter
Ms. Ricter is an amazing educator who just so happens to be an even more amazing librarian! She invites curiosity, creativity, play, literacy, and critical thinking into her DAILY lessons all the while inspiring kids to LOVE and ADORE reading. She incorporates technology into her lessons: inviting students to tinker with copper tape and paper circuitry, build and construct with STEM items, leave designs on a Lego Wall, and learn about apps that make reading, thinking and creating come alive! She reaches out to puppeteers, authors and helps create events like the Typewriter Rodeo and partnering with the Thinkery for stop-motion animation fun for our school that inspires kids to think, connect, learn, and be delighted about the world around them. She has redefined the role of a librarian at our school and is a wonderful inspiration to teaching and learning at Bridge Point!
