Student ID Badges

Student ID badges are an essential component of maintaining campus safety by allowing staff members to quickly identify students and their campus and grade, and individuals who do not belong on campus. Additionally, ID badges improve the efficiency of campus services like bus ridership, cafeteria lines, library checkout, campus printing, and emergency response identification.

Student ID badges and lanyards will be distributed during back-to-school events and at designated pickup locations during the first week of school. Stay tuned for more information about times and locations!

Student ID badges are required every day during school hours on district transportation and property. More information on the policies can be found here.

Student ID badges display the student's name, photo, grade, and campus. The only information stored in the bar code or RFID chip is the student number. Personally identifiable information such as address, phone number, social security number, etc., is not stored on the card.

Student ID badges must be worn visibly, around the neck on the breakaway lanyard that was provided with your badge. You may not place stickers or other markings on the badge or protective sleeve. More information on student ID badge policies can be found here.

All students will receive a branded lanyard for his or her campus along with the student ID, which is required to be worn.

Your badge has several functions to make campus life more convenient. When you wear your badge, you can: 

• help make your campus more secure
• scan the barcode in the library to check out books, or in the cafeteria to pay the cashier
• tap your badge on the card reader on campus printers or district transportation
• access certain campus facilities as assigned

If you lose your badge or it gets sufficiently damaged that it's no longer either legible or functional, go to your campus's front office to have a new one printed. A fee of $5 each for a replacement badge and lanyard will be posted to your RevTrak account. The fee will not apply for defective badges or to correct errors. The previous badge will be automatically deactivated.

Replacement student ID badges will inherit all RFID chip permissions and functions associated with the previous badge. Therefore, your previous badge will be automatically deactivated when the new one is printed. As a result, students may not purchase multiple additional badges.

Students will be able to tap their ID badges on district transportation just like SMART tags. Please note that transportation will be available to all eligible students during the first week of school, regardless of whether they've received their badges or not. After the first week, the usual documentation procedures will be followed for students without badges.

Your photo will be taken when your new badge is printed.

No, student ID badges are only required on school properties and transportation during school hours. They're not required for after-school events unless otherwise noted.

A staff member may direct you to remove your badge during any activity where it may cause a hazard. Be sure to put it back on when the class or activity is finished, or before leaving the class area.
