iPad Protection Plan
Updated iPad Protection Plan for the 2025-26 School Year
General Information:
Eanes ISD will no longer assess the $25 fee previously required for the iPad Protection Plan. All district-issued iPads will continue to be covered under AppleCare. However, families are reminded that they remain financially responsible for any damage to, loss of, or theft of district-issued iPads and their protective cases.
Coverage Details:
A maximum of two (2) claims may be submitted per school year. These claims may include incidents of theft (with a valid police report) or accidental damage resulting from an unexpected and unintentional external event occurring during normal daily use. Students and their parents/guardians are financially responsible for the repair or replacement of the iPad and its accessories.
Repair and Replacement Policy
Rates and policies are subject to change without prior notice.
Accidental Damage
Incidents deemed accidental and covered under AppleCare will be repaired at no cost to the family. Coverage is limited to a maximum of two (2) approved claims per school year.
Damages not covered under AppleCare, as determined by Apple, will result in repair or replacement charges billed to the parent or guardian.
Intentional or Reckless Damage
Any form of vandalism or deliberate damage—including but not limited to writing, etching, throwing, or other defacement—will void all warranty and coverage.
Parents/guardians will be held financially responsible for 100% of the cost associated with repair or replacement of the device and its accessories.
Theft
In the event of theft, a police report must be filed by the student or guardian, and the case number must be submitted to the campus technology staff. A maximum of two (2) claims are permitted per school year.
Families are responsible for 50% of the replacement cost of the device.
Loss
Families are responsible for 100% of the replacement cost for any lost district-issued iPads or accessories.

Reporting Damage or Loss
All incidents involving damage or loss must be reported promptly to the campus technology support team via the Tech Help Desk system. Following an evaluation by Technology Services, any applicable charges for repair or replacement will be posted to the student's Skyward account.
Device Care Guidelines
District-issued devices must remain in the protective case provided at all times. Students are expected to handle devices with care and avoid any actions that could result in intentional or negligent damage, as such incidents are not covered under standard protections. iPads and their cases should be maintained in good condition to ensure ongoing functionality and safeguard against avoidable damage.
