Accessing Canvas

Welcome to Canvas banner

 

With the launch of Canvas LMS, parents and families can log in as Observers to see their students' courses, assignments, calendars, and other materials in a read-only format. Canvas automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address from Skyward. 

Please note: Accounts and Links below are estimated to be live September 25th, 2026.

Eanes ISD is excited to adopt Canvas as its district-wide Learning Management System (LMS) in the 2026-27 school year. Canvas is a platform where teachers and students can store and access all their learning materials in one place, with one login, and create a more personalized learning experience through instructional support, class calendars, notifications, collaborative activities, and other resources in one central location available anytime, anywhere.

With Canvas, families can participate in their student's educational journey by creating an Observer role linked to their student's account, with customizable notifications. Usage of Canvas features will vary by course and by teacher, but can include: 

  • Student dashboard
  • Course syllabus
  • Course content and modules
  • Assignments and due dates
  • Progress grades and feedback (Skyward is still the official gradebook)
  • Calendar

We are in transition mode this year, so adoption and utilization of Canvas features and content may change over the upcoming months. Please pardon our dust as we unpack and move in.
