LMS Adoption

Eanes ISD is excited to adopt a Learning Management System (LMS) for the 2026-27 school year.  After a through evaluation process driven by user feedback, including staff from all levels and areas, administrators, students, and parents, Canvas was identified as the platform that best supports the wide range of instructional and operational needs across the district and positions us to continue to innovate in our approaches to learning.

User feedback emphasized attributes such as:

  • Canvas is by the most common LMS used by universities
  • Their new partnership with Khan Academy includes all of that platform's resources and its AI tool, Khanmigo
  • A vast learning object repository
  • The collaborative sandbox makes it easy to brainstorm and create with other teachers
  • STAAR-type question banks and assessments
  • The ability to save testing accommodations by student
  • An open-source API, with the widest range of learning tool integrations
  • SpeedGrader, uploadable rubrics, and other tools to streamline teacher workflow
  • Customizability
  • Streamlined, modern interface

We're looking forward to sharing more information about training and the transition process. If you would like to participate in our early adopter group to help us refine our policies and templates, please email Morgen Wilson at mwilson3@eanesisd.net.
