My number one reason that I love working in the Special Education department for Eanes ISD is our students!  They are amazing and their families are very involved and care about their progress.  My number two reason is the number of opportunities I have had for professional growth. With the help of the district, I have been able to acquire my Master's degree in Special Education and also become a Level 1 Wilson Reading System teacher.  I have been able to hold many different teaching positions, including Life Skills, Modified and Collaborative English, and now I am a Reading Specialist.  I have taught at two different campuses in my 16 years in the Eanes district. Eanes opens doors for educators to grow and expand their careers.

I have been a Behavior Support Teacher in Eanes for 10 years. When I came to Eanes my education really began. I had a coordinator who was on my campus working with me directly every week. I also had a behavior specialist who I collaborated with 2-3 times per week. My immediate supervisors genuinely cared about the quality of the special education teacher they had hired. I was taught how to write IEPs and goals and most importantly, I was taught how to be an effective special education teacher.
