We are excited to be part of your journey toward becoming an educator and school professional. Eanes ISD partners with universities, educator preparation programs, and alternative certification programs to provide meaningful field-based learning experiences in our schools.

Whether you are completing student teaching, a teacher residency, observation hours, an internship or a graduate-level practicum, our Human Resources team is here to help coordinate your placement.

Student Teachers & Residents

Eanes ISD welcomes student teachers and teacher residents completing clinical teaching requirements through an approved university or educator preparation program. Student teachers and residents are paired with experienced Eanes ISD educators and have the opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience while completing their program requirements.

How to Get Started

Apply with Eanes ISD
Complete the Student Teacher Application available on the Eanes ISD Job Board.
Program Placement Request
Your university or educator preparation program must submit or confirm your placement request.
Placement
Human Resources will coordinate placements based on program requirements, certification area, preferences, and availability. Once confirmed, onboarding requirements and next steps will be provided to the student or university, based on the university’s placement process.

Observers & Student Interns

Eanes ISD provides placement opportunities for individuals completing classroom observation hours, field-based experiences, or student internships required by a university or educator preparation program.

Placement opportunities may include:

Alternative Certification Program Observers
University General Education or Special Education Classroom Interns
Dietetic Interns
Nursing Interns

These placements may include classroom observations, structured fieldwork, or other program-required experiences that do not constitute a full student teaching or residency placement.

Please Note: Classroom observation opportunities for individuals completing required observation hours through an educator certification program are available September 1 through March 31 each school year.

How to Get Started

Submit a Placement Request
Complete the Placement Request Form. Be prepared to provide your university or certification program, required number of hours, preferred grade level or subject area, requested dates, and any specific program requirements.
Placement
Human Resources will review your request and coordinate placement based on availability. Once confirmed, you or your program supervisor will receive placement details and next steps.

Graduate-Level Practicum Students

Eanes ISD welcomes graduate students seeking a practicum or field-based placement as part of an advanced degree or professional certification program. Because program requirements vary, each placement request is reviewed individually.

Graduate-level placements may include, but are not limited to:

School Psychology
Speech-Language Pathology
Educational Diagnostician
School Counseling or School-Based Therapy

- Name of university or program
- Program requirements, including required hours, activities, responsibilities, and expectations
- Anticipated placement dates
