Computer Science courses offer interactive, project-based learning to discover how computational thinking and creativity can help solve real-world problems.
On September 27th, students heard from Sumitha Tharasingh about the Software Development Lifecycle. Sumitha introduced students to the different types of application software and connected it to her work experience in the computer science industry as well as entrepreneurship.
Westlake High School offers a variety of Computer Science (CS) courses for students in grades 9-12.
Computer Science enables students to learn a new way to think about computers while improving their problem solving and reasoning skills. Students will start by learning object oriented programming using python and Java in the introductory courses. In the advanced and independent courses they will learn JAVA, C, Swift, and PHP programming languages with an introduction to robotics programming, graphical games and iPhone/Android Development.
