Eanes ISD K–12 Curriculum Review and Adoption Cycle
Eanes ISD is committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for every student, grounded in academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. To ensure our curriculum remains current, aligned with state standards, and reflective of our community’s high expectations, the district follows a structured K–12 Curriculum Review and Adoption Cycle across all subject areas identified in the State Board of Education’s IRMA Multi-Year Plan.
Purpose of the Curriculum Review Cycle
The Curriculum Review Cycle is designed to ensure that every course and content area in Eanes ISD:
- Aligns with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and all updates from the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
- Incorporates current research-based instructional practices and high-quality learning materials.
- Reflects the values, goals, and expectations of the Eanes ISD community.
- Provides equitable access to engaging, challenging, and relevant learning experiences for all students.
Our Process

The cycle includes several key phases:

- Review updates to TEKS and current best practices.
- Gather input from teachers, administrators, and community members.
- Development
- Identify and evaluate new instructional materials and programs.
- Conduct classroom pilots and collect teacher and student feedback.
- Present recommendations to district leadership and the Eanes ISD Board of Trustees for consideration and approval.
- Adoption
- Present recommendations to district leadership and the Eanes ISD Board of Trustees for consideration and approval.
- Implementation
- Provide professional learning and ongoing support for teachers.
- Integrate new materials and instructional strategies into classrooms.
- Communicate updates and resources to families and the broader community.
- Evaluate
- Review student performance data to measure impact.
- Gather ongoing feedback from educators and campuses.
