There are three math courses available for fifth grade students: Math 5 (fifth grade math), Math 5/6 (compacted fifth/sixth math), OR Math 6/7 (compacted fifth/sixth math).
Math 5/6 eligibility:
- Students must meet the proficiency score, 80% or higher, on the District's 5th Grade Math Credit By Exam,
OR
- Score a Masters Grade Level on 4th Grade Math STAAR
OR
- Average of 90% or higher for the District’s 4th Grade Quarter Benchmarks (Q1, Q2, and Q3 Average).
Campuses will send out information in March on how to sign your child up for the Credit by Exam. Students enrolling in Math 5/6 must maintain an 80% average or higher on all assessments.
Math 6/7 eligibility:
- Students must meet the mastery score, 90% or higher, on the District's 5th Grade Math Credit By Exam.
