Educational Impact Award

Those who display leadership and commitment to the district by making a positive, noticeable and significant impact.

Ms. Leslie Erwin
Ms. Erwin coordinates several leadership opportunities for Valley View students that are above and beyond her counseling duties. She initiated the Cardinal News Team where 5th graders have an opportunity to hone their video production, news anchoring, and interviewing skills. She has also graciously coordinated the 5th grade End of Year Celebration for the last 3 years, ensuring that our students have a magical evening before they say goodbye to Valley View. This year, Mrs. Erwin organized a group of students to plan, act, sing and film a Public Service message for Valley View students. Mrs. Erwin's passion is how best to serve the needs of each individual student. She works tirelessly towards that goal each and every day!

Ms. Barb Paier
Ms. Paier has made a tremendous impact on education at Valley View. In addition to organizing Science Day, she supports science all year by preparing lab materials for teachers and spends countless hours every week to guarantee students will have hands-on science investigations. Ms. Paier is also the library volunteer coordinator, responsible for scheduling and training library volunteers. But what is probably the most recognized are her puppet shows, which she plans, creates, organizes, recruits and presents twice a year and at Kindergarten Round-Up. She does all of this in a quiet, unassuming, calm, and friendly manner. We are very appreciative of her positive impact on our students.

Good Samaritan Award

One who displays compassion, selflessness, or courage by taking initiative.

Ms. Nicole Campbell
Ms. Campbell has gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that every event at Valley View is a success. There is no way to list every single selfless act she has displayed for our community and all that she does to make Valley View so special. She frequently donates time and money to near and dear causes. She has been instrumental in raising thousands of dollars through Booster Club sponsored events. She is involved in EVERYTHING. In fact, she told us she would probably miss getting this recognition because she's organizing Field Day today, but we wanted to recognize her anyway!

Heroes Award

Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Ms. Jana Bolles
Ms. Bolles comes to Valley View every week to help the kindergarten teachers prepare materials, run copies, work with students, and basically do anything else that is needed. She goes above and beyond to make sure that teachers are well prepared. She takes inventory on supplies, shops for additional items if necessary, and does all of this with a happy, eager smile! It's obvious that she has a true love for her profession, especially since she retired from Valley View not long ago. We love Ms. Bolles and are so thankful for all she does for us!

Ms. Kit Lalonde
Ms. Lalonde is a 4th Grade parent who stepped up to volunteer many hours to help prepare each science investigation by organizing and replacing materials for each 4th grade classroom. Her sweet disposition and willingness to give of her personal time has helped us transition smoothly into a new science curriculum. On a weekly basis, she carves out time to accommodate the needs of our fourth grade students. She takes initiative to thoughtfully determine how our classroom labs need to be set up and organized. The time that she puts in with each visit allows teachers to focus on planning for and facilitating student investigations. Parent volunteers like Ms. Lalonde are extremely valuable to our school and we are thankful for all of them!

Mr. Don Gray
Whether it's comforting Kindergarteners as they bravely board the bus for the first time, or celebrating our 5th graders as they move on to middle school, Mr. Don, as he is known, goes above and beyond and constantly finds endless reasons to celebrate the children.

Bus rides are anything but the norm on Mr. Don's bus. He quizzes the children on everything from bus safety to Texas state history. Correct answers are rewarded from his treasure box. Birthdays are always a treat on Mr. Don's bus, as he gets everyone involved in the celebration. He keeps our children safe on a rather long commute and a tricky route. Mr. Don does this very important work while celebrating and nurturing our children and we couldn't thank him enough for all he does.
