Educational Impact Award
Those who display leadership and commitment to the district by making a positive, noticeable and significant impact.
Ms. Meredith Kinsey
Meredith has gone above and beyond her required duties as a TA. As a former teacher herself, she has helped plan, teach lessons when needed, and is willing at the drop of a hat, to assist in any way she can. She has covered multiple classes when teachers are absent, even looking for fun ways to teach subject matter that some students were having a difficult time grasping.
She is very friendly to all staff and takes initiative in problem solving on the job. She always comes to school happy and cheerful, often times bringing everyone treats to brighten the day.
Ms. Krista Bradham
Krista is an amazing educator who works night and day to make sure that the students "get it". She is wonderful to collaborate with and is an inspiration to other teachers on her team. Even faced with a new curriculum, Krista has created lessons that enable all students to be successful, regardless of ability levels. Her perseverance is incredible; her heart and mind are dedicated to the success of students. She has truly made an educational impact on not only her students, but her colleagues as well.
Ms. Jeni Testa
Jeni is exceptionally quick to help with anything from quick tasks, to time-consuming projects - whatever you need! She is also constantly performing great works with classroom technology, offering tips and tricks on how to present lessons better. She's warm, friendly, welcoming, and always positive! Jeni has been a breath of fresh air and has most certainly made an educational impact on HCMS!
Betsey Aguirre, Amanda Dixon, Karah Hodge, and Mario Venters
HCMS is blessed to have such a qualified team of teaching assistants in our special education department! Each one of them comes to our campus every day with a smile and a positive attitude, ready and willing to help their students in any way they can. They are often faced with "out of the ordinary" challenges that call upon their gifts of flexibility and compassion, and they greet these challenges with incredible confidence and care! Whether they are working one-on-one with a student or working alongside a student in a whole class setting, they are always doing it with joy. If they are frustrated, their faces never show it! They are amazing people who do so much for our HCMS family.
Good Samaritan Award
One who displays compassion, selflessness, or courage by taking initiative.
Ms. Monica Leichter
Monica is a steadfast volunteer at Hill Country. She has gone above and beyond to support the Robotics program, with countless hours planning and working. She has volunteered at both tournaments, as well as provided food for hospitality. Monica does not have a child participating in the Robotics program, so she has done this all out of kindness and generosity. She's an amazing help to the program, the students, and Hill Country!
Ms. Heather Schubert
Heather has been instrumental over the years in spearheading the Texas Teen Book Festival held at Westlake High School, drawing more than 4,000 visitors from all over the state. She has helped to broaden exposure to many locally and nationally acclaimed authors, as well as creating an extremely exciting and memorable event for our teens.
Heather is also extremely involved in the Annual Fit Fest, held here at HCMS. Her exemplary planning and organizational skills lend a helpful hand to the large event, which includes workshop speakers, food vendors, and activities throughout the day. This year's event is sure to be a success with Heather's creativity and leadership.
These two major events are in addition to the excellent and exciting work that Heather does each day in the Hill Country Middle School Library. We are grateful for all her hard work to make our campus better.
Heroes AwardThose who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Mr. John Guerrero
John is a huge asset to Hill Country Middle School. He is instrumental in keeping our building in good shape. He is always available to help with last minute items that we throw at him, which he completes with excellence and ease and always with a smile on his face. He always follows through on items that need assistance. He and his staff play a huge role in our transition process with setting up chairs, tables, screens, and many other things we ask him to help us with. We are so fortunate to have him on our campus and appreciate everything he does to make our jobs easier!
