Requirements (updated 12/09/11):

All substitute teaching applicants must hold a valid Teaching Certificate (preferred) or a college degree to apply to be a substitute teacher at Eanes ISD. 

All Non-Certified teacher's aide applications must have prior school district teaching aide experience.  Please see Application Requirements below for additional information.

Application Requirements

Applications must be complete and all requirements included when submitting your substitute application. Incomplete applications will not be processed or accepted.

1. Completed Application (All forms included in application)

   Payroll Information Form, W-4 Form, Public Access Form, Letter of Reasonable Assurance, Direct Deposit Form (voided check required), Emergency Medical Form, I-9 Form, Confidentiality Form, Social Security Recognition Form, MidAmerica 457 Form

2. Official College Transcripts for teaching substitutes(Originals Required)

3. Negative Tuberculosis Test administered within the last 12 months

4. 2 forms of ID

5. Reference Letters: 3 letters from previous employers preferred

6. You will be required to attend an on-line  substitute orientation before you begin substitute teaching.

Substitute Orientation

The Eanes ISD Substitute Orientation will take place on-line for the 2011-12 school year.  After a complete substitute packet has been submitted the potential substitute will be e-mailed information regarding on-line Substitute Orientation.  A verification form will be printed by the potential substitute after all mandatory on-line training has been completed.  The return of the verification form to the Substitute Coordinator will be the final step to be activated as Substitute in Eanes ISD.

Substitute Pay

Eanes Independent School District pays the substitute teacher, teacher's assistant and clerical personnel on the following schedule:

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the substitute orientation?
Now that the substitute orientation is on-line and can be completed at an individual pace.  You should be able to complete all required training in 1-1 1/2  to 2 hours.

Do I need to call and schedule to attend a substitute orientation?
No, the on-line substitute orientation will be completed at your individual pace after all required paperwork and fingerprinting is complete.

Does my application have to be complete in order to complete the substitute orientation?
Yes.  Completed applications must be submitted for sub orientation to be scheduled.

Can my application be turned in at the substitute orientation?
No.
