Eanes students, teachers and schools do amazing things everyday. Here are some recent accomplishments or exciting events on EISD campuses.

Elementary Schools
Barton Creek Elementary:
- BCE was rated as an Exemplary school by the Texas Education Agency in 2011 ratings.
- Barton Creek was named to the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Texas Business and Education Coalition Honor Roll.
- The organization Children at Risk ranked BCE among the top five elementary schools in Central Texas for the fourth year in a row.
- Barton Creek was included as a high-performing campuses on a list of best public schools by Texas Monthly magazine.
Bridge Point Elementary:

BPE was rated as an Exemplary school by the Texas Education Agency in 2011 ratings.

BPE students read 340,233 total pages in the Bookspring Read-a-thon, capturing first place in the region and raising $24,064 for Austin’s neediest children.

The 2009 Eanes ISD Teacher of the Year was first-grade teacher Susan Bufkin.

Two students were selected for the 2009 Lone Star Leadership Academy.
Cedar Creek Elementary:

Cedar Creek was rated as an Exemplary school in the 2011 TEA ratings.

The District Teachers of the Year in both 2007 (Julie Lenhardt) and 2008 (Pamela Browning) were from CCE.

Three CCE students placed first in the 2011 inventor competition at the TCEA Area Robotics competition, becoming the first Cedar Creek students to advance to state in the program’s two-year history.

CCE was included on the 2009 list of High-Performing Schools by Just 4 Kids in conjunction with the National Center for Educational Achievement.
Eanes Elementary:

Eanes was rated as an Exemplary school by the Texas Education Agency in 2011 ratings.

The Mustang News student-run newspaper was honored as the national elementary winner in the 2010 Weekly Reader Student Publication Contest.

One student was selected for the 2010 Lone Star Leadership Academy.

The organization Children at Risk ranked EE among the top 20 elementary schools in Central Texas.

Eanes Elementary is the longest continually operating school in the state of Texas.
Forest Trail Elementary:

Forest Trail was rated as an Exemplary school by the Texas Education Agency in 2011 ratings.

One team from FTE qualified for the 2010 Destination Imagination Global Finals.

Forest Trail was named to the 2009 and 2010 Texas Business and Education Coalition Honor Roll.
- FTE was included on the 2009 list of High-Performing Schools by Just 4 Kids in conjunction with the National Center for Educational Achievement.
Valley View Elementary:

Valley View was rated as an Exemplary school by the Texas Education Agency in 2011 ratings.

Second-grade teacher, Kathy Tucci, was named the 2010 District Teacher of the Year.

One team from VVE qualified for the 2010 Destination Imagination Global Finals.

VVE was included on the 2009 list of High-Performing Schools by Just 4 Kids in conjunction with the National Center for Educational Achievement.
Middle Schools
Hill Country Middle School:
- Hill Country was rated as an Exemplary school by the Texas Education Agency in 2011 ratings.
- HCMS was named to the 2009 & 2010 Texas Business and Education Coalition Honor Roll.
- Hill Country was chosen as one of 10 schools in the nation by the Kennedy Center for its "On Location: Spotlight on the Community" program in spring of 2010.
- Hill Country MS students garnered 54 individual medals, 9 first place trophies and 11 second-and-third place certificates at the UIL Academic Meet. HCMS placed second in 6th, 7th and 8th grades as well as second in the overall competition.
- Hill Country Middle School 8th grader Nicole Summersett set a new school and district record with a mark of 10 feet,10 inches to win the pole vault in the Highland Lakes District Track Meet. Nicole’s vault is the top 2011 U.S. mark for middle school girls.
- The Hill Country Concert and Symphonia Orchestras won Sweepstakes at their UIL competition, marking perfect scores! And for the first time ever, HCMS had a Full Orchestra comprised of band and orchestra students who won the prestigious Sweepstakes Award.
West Ridge Middle School:
- West Ridge was rated as an Exemplary school by the Texas Education Agency in 2011 ratings.
- Students from West Ridge Middle School Future City Engineering team won First Place at the 2011 Central Texas Regional competition.
- Team WRMS Academic UIL took first place overall at a competition at Lake Travis MS. Both 6th and 7th grades took first place and 8th grade captured third.
- WRMS students were the National School Team Gold medalists in the 2011 American Scholastic Achievement League. One Wildcat was named the State of Texas Champion and also the National Champion!
- Two Destination Imagination teams qualified for the 2010 Global Finals and placed second and eighth in the world.
- The organization Children at Risk ranked WRMS among the top 10 middle schools in Central Texas.
- In 2010, WRMS was named to the Texas Business and Education Coalition Honor Roll for the fifth consecutive year.
High School
Westlake High School:
- Westlake High School is one of the largest high schools in the state to be rated Exemplary in the 2011 TEA ratings.
- Westlake had a school-record 44 National Merit scholar finalists in 2010-11. Have 15 semifinalists for 2011-12.
- Westlake High School is ranked 72 in Newsweek magazine's Top Public Schools in America.
- The Austin Chamber of Commerce recognized Eanes ISD as having the highest direct to college enrollment rate in Central Texas with 87 percent. This is the third consecutive year for this honor. One factor considered in the rating is Westlake has the highest college application rate in Central Texas, with 99 percent of the senior class applying to at least one institution of higher education.
- A Westlake senior was named Presidential Scholar for the 4th year in a row.
- 9 students were selected as 2010-11 National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars.
- 2 Westlake HS Destination Imagination teams qualified for the 2011 Global Finals and placed 6th and 8th in the world.
- A total of 303 Westlake students were honored for completing at least 70 hours of community service recently. They received white service cords to display at commencement.
- Westlake HS had 10 students named All-State in the 2011 Texas Music Educators’ Association band, orchestra competitions.
- The Chaparral girls' golf teams captured their second consecutive 2011 state championships.
- Four Westlake High School seniors recorded perfect scores on the ACT college entrance exams in 2010-11.
- Ms. Denise DeMartino received a Presidential Scholars Teacher Recognition Award from the Department of Education after being identified the Presidential Scholar’s most influential teacher.
